I am an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and a Registered Nurse (RN) with more than 18 years of experience, primarily in the NICU and postpartum settings. I understand the difficulties that breastfeeding can present. For some, it’s not as easy as one would think.

My passion for lactation began over 11 years ago as a first-time mom to a 33-week preemie who went on to nurse exclusively for 20 months while my second, a 36-week late pretermer, exclusively nursed and self-weaned at 14 months. I am well aware of the challenges associated with breastfeeding. From pumping, supplementing, breast and bottle refusal, to biting and managing clogged ducts. The start of my breastfeeding journey was not ideal nor easy but I had the support of my husband and a great Lactation Consultant. And now, I want to be that support to another family that finds themselves encountering difficulties with infant feeding or the overwhelming challenges of a first time parent.

Establishing my own practice has always been an aspiration but that first step is always terrifying. Family and friends often sought my guidance on baby care and lactation support, and I was always glad to assist. Colleagues would often refer to me as the "baby whisperer" on the unit due to my knack for calming infants swiftly.

I decided to take a leap of faith and pursue my IBCLC certification which eventually led to the creation of Milk Vibes Only (MVO) Lactation and Newborn Services! For those that know me personally, my motto is “Good Vibes Only” so it was only fitting to name my practice in its honor! MVO Lactation is an inclusive practice that holds the belief that all infants deserves access to human milk even if its delivery is unconventional. This is a no judgment zone!
